Holkham Arboretum & Gardens Tour for Our volunteers!
Heritage House is always hugely grateful to the many who volunteer so many hours to keep Heritage House “on the road”.
On September 15th, almost all the team of bus drivers, bus assistants, lunch deliverers, day helpers and supporters were given a rare and very special tour of Holkham’s amazing and hugely impressive Arboretum and private gardens by patron and volunteer, Polly Leicester.
With Head Gardener Mark Morrell giving the historical briefing and explaining ongoing plans, it really was a beautiful afternoon with so many thanks to Polly for her time and anecdotes. The redwood oak believed to be planted by Capability Brown and the intricate shell decoration of the Victorian Shell House in the Shell Garden were real highlights.
